From 2006-2007 CuriousWorks’ major focus has been The Migrant Project, which brought over 40 Sydney-based artists with cultural and artistic ancestries from across the globe into one creative framework.
The collaboration centred on the notion of a common identity as migrants in Sydney - and explored ways of belonging to the city, whilst challenging the notion that the city can belong to anyone. Our final live performance inhabited the layers of one of Sydney’s oldest surviving buildings, the Hyde Park Barracks Museum.
The Migrant Project will conclude once and for all with This City is a Body: an interactive journey through Sydney detailing our activities over the last two and a half years. It is currently due for release mid-2008.
Travel through The Migrant Project past in text, sound and images via it's memory; or taste some of This City is a Body through its dreams.
